Naval Weapons Station Earle 75th Anniversary
June 8 @ 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Established on Dec. 13, 1943, then Naval Ammunition Depot Earle provided most of the ammunition and ordnance used by American troops during the Allied invasion of Normandy in WWII. Since that significant beginning, the station has spent the past quarter of a century ensuring our armed forces have the means to take the fight to America’s enemies around the world.
The event offers the community a rare opportunity to come onto the station and learn about our unique mission right here in Monmouth County.
A formal ceremony commemorating the celebration will be held at 2 p.m., followed by live entertainment from the United Service Organization’s Show Troupe, a traditional Native American dance performance by members of the Lenni-Lenape tribe, as well as a military drill and ceremony display from the Colts Neck High School Junior ROTC cadets.
A carnival featuring boardwalk games, trackless train rides, inflatables, a petting zoo and face painting will begin at 4 p.m. The carnival is free to all DoD cardholders and just $10 per person for all others.
The event will also feature static displays and informational booths from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, as well as federal and local agencies throughout Monmouth County.
